Certified Radon Testing

in Los Angeles & Southern California

You can't see it, smell it, or taste it. But radon is the leading cause of lung cancer in non-smokers and has been linked to Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and long-term cognitive decline.

The only way to know how much radon is in your home or building is to test.

The SafeAir™ Company

We help homeowners, property managers, developers, and real estate professionals get the certified documentation they need... whether for peace of mind, a real estate transaction, or commercial financing compliance under ANSI/AARST standards.

We are an independent testing-only company. We never remediate, so every result we deliver is completely unbiased.

When mitigation is recommended, we connect clients with certified mitigators and assist with bid review to ensure best value, warranty, and system design.

Radon

Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer for non-smokers.

You can’t see, smell, taste, or feel it. It seeps in from the soil beneath your home or building through foundation cracks, walls, and pipes. Long-term exposure affects far more than the lungs. Studies have found that patients with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's have up to 10 times more radon in their brain tissue than those without these conditions. Radon has also been linked to brain cancer, stroke, malignant melanoma, stomach cancer, and early childhood leukemia. Children and pets are most susceptible to the ill effects of radon exposure. It comes from the earth's crust and is present in every home and building, everywhere.

The only way to know how much radon is in your space… is to test.

Certified Radon Testing

Precise Results You Can Act On

EPA certified continuous radon monitor used for radon testing

Precision Radon Detection

We offer certified radon testing using the appropriate method for your property type and testing requirements.

For residential properties, we use EPA-certified continuous radon monitors (CRM), which provide hour-by-hour readings and are required for residential real estate transactions.

For multifamily properties, commercial buildings, and medical facilities requiring ANSI/AARST-compliant testing for refinancing or financing compliance, we use EPA approved radon test kits. These methods meet HUD, EPA, and ANSI/AARST requirements and allow for cost-effective testing across multiple units or spaces.

Your certified report includes clear results and next steps based on EPA action levels and applicable standards for your property type.

When mitigation is recommended, we connect clients with certified mitigators and assist with bid review to ensure best value, warranty, and system design. Because we never remediate ourselves, our guidance is completely unbiased.

Frequently Asked Questions

Radon
What is radon?
Radon is a radioactive gas found in every home. It's tasteless, odorless, and invisible. The only way to know how much radon is present is by testing.
Where does radon come from?
Radon comes from uranium in the Earth's crust, breaking down into radium and then radon gas that rises into homes.
How does radon enter my home or building?
Through foundation cracks, walls, pipes, and even well water sources.
Is there a safe level of radon exposure?
There is no safe level. The EPA recommends that mitigation be considered between 2.0 pCi/L and 3.9 pCi/L. At 4.0 pCi/L and above mitigation is strongly recommended. Even exposure to low levels of radon carries risk.
